Juan Manuel Martínez Vallejos, an 18-year-old-student at Malaga University, has started a campaign to encourage people to donate bone marrow for transplants.

He suffers from leukemia and is calling on students in particular and the general public to register as donors, because it can save so many lives.

Juan Manuel will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant in August, but wants to help others. 4,000 people a year are diagnosed with leukemia in Spain.

Anyone aged between 18 and 55 who is in good health can register with the World Network of Bone Marrow Donors.
