  • A booster Covid vaccine is to be offered to the over-50s

The Gibraltar government announced recently that a booster Covid vaccine is to be offered to everyone over the age of 50, six months after they have received their second jab, and also to frontline health and care workers, people aged between 12 and 49 who have underlying health conditions and anyone who is living with someone who is immunosuppressed. The campaign will begin as soon as supplies of the vaccine are received from the UK.

Figures issued on Wednesday show that, since the pandemic began, Gibraltar has administered 79,377 doses of the vaccine, of which 39,493 were the second dose. As well as the local population, vaccines were offered to cross-border workers.
