An autumn filled with cultural events to look forward to in Gibraltar

The programme kicks off on Friday 1 October and continues until 18 December with a feast of interesting and varied activities to enjoy

The programme of Autumn Cultural Events in Gibralar has now been announced, and from 1 October to 18 December there will be a feast of interesting and varied activities to enjoy, for residents and visitors alike.

The programme kicks off with the Gibraltar Scale Model Society at Central Hall, from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 October, and on the Friday evening the Musicians Association of Gibraltar presents Bandslam Heat 1 at the Lord Nelson in Casemates Square from 7.30pm, featuring Dead City Radio, Idle Rise, The Moxies & special guests. Tickets for the music event cost £6.00 and are available from www.buytickets.gi

The second heat, at the same venue, will be on Friday 8th, featuring - Ace of Slades, Mark Muscat & The Broken Arrow, Sons of the Crown, The Views & special guests.

Art lovers also have a treat in store in October, with a painting and sculpture exhibition by Willie Chiappe at the Fine Arts Gallery in Casemates Square from Monday 4th to Friday 29th. Entry is free, and the exhibition is open from 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 6pm Mondays to Fridays.

If operetta is your thing, then make a note of La Chulapona, which is being performed at the John Mackintosh Hall Theatre at 8pm on 6 and 7 October. Tickets are £5 and will be on sale at the City Hall reception from Wednesday 20 September.

From Monday 11 to Saturday 16 October there is the chance to see the play 'Consent' by the Trafalgar Theatre Group at the Gustavo Bacarisas gallery at 8pm. Tickets are £15.00 and are available from www.buytickets.gi

On Thursday 14 October there are two interesting events, one after the other. At 6.30pm at the lecture room in the John Mackintosh Hall there will be a book launch for Grazalema, about travellers, artists and nature lovers during the golden years of the historical Spanish village, and at 7.30pm the Juan Galiardo Jazz Trio will be performing at the Ince's Hall Theatre. Tickets cost £6.00.
