Seven men were arrested on Wednesday night after trying to enter Gibraltar without valid permits, and an eighth was arrested for importing a six-metre rigid hulled inflatable vessel. All eight are of North African descent. They are being kept in police custody while an investigation is now being carried out to ascertain their true identities and where they are from. The boat in which they arrived has been confiscated by the authorities.
