World Book Day event at John Mackintosh Hall on March 1st

  • The theme is Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

Thursday March 1st is 'World Book Day' and a special event will be held again this year to celebrate. This year's theme is Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling.

At 4.30pm Story Time will begin in the theatre of the John Mackintosh Hall, with performances by staff at Gibraltar Cultural Services, Angela Jenkins, Transitions and GAMPA. Entrance is free of charge.

All through the day there will be arts and crafts activities for children of all ages in the Gallery, and the youngsters are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character.

The popular Book Crossing and Book Fair will open in the Lower Exhibition room at 10am: this is the perfect opportunity to find something new to read, free of charge, or participate in the Book Crossing by bringing a book and taking another one.

Local authors are also invited to promote their books. For further information, phone Kimberley Pecino on (00350) 200 75669.
