The Gibraltar government has announced that over 1,600 new homes will be made available for local residents between the summer of 2019 and the end of 2021. Of these, 1,500 will be new builds, and approximately 160 will be former Ministry of Defence homes which will pass to the government.

Three new estates are to be built: the Hassan Centenary Terraces at Eastside, Bob Peliza Mews at Waterport and a third estate of affordable homes in Europort Avenue, a prime town centre location.
