These 57 municipalities exceed the 1,000 Covid rate, one day before restrictions are revised

Malaga city along with nine major towns are above the Junta de Andalucía threshold, where they could seek a night curfew through the courts

Olula del Río in Almeria province; Conil de la Frontera, Paterna de Rivera and Olvera (Cadiz province), Mengíbar (Jaén province), Malaga city and Campillos (Malaga province), Marchena, and El Cuervo (Seville province) are the Andalusian municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants that this Tuesday (3 August) exceed the rate of 1,000 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days.

The Junta de Andalucía proposes night lockdowns, between 2am and 7am, and border closures in those municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants that have a cumulative incidence rate of more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In the case of municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants, a specific evaluation will be made by the Territorial Committees of High Impact on Public Health every Wednesday, once all the epidemiological indicators have been evaluated.

Any lockdown requests made by the committees must be ratified by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA).

According to the latest data from the region's Ministry of Health a total of 57 municipalities exceed the rate of 1,000 cases in 14 days, of which a total of ten have more than 5,000 inhabitants. They are Olula del Río (1,007), Conil de la Frontera (1,001.1), Paterna de Rivera (1,137), Olvera (1,041.9), Mengíbar (1,270.4), Malaga city (1,014.1), Campillos (1,204.2), Marchena (1,039.9), Tocina (1,233.4) and El Cuervo (1,016.6).

The municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants that currently have limited night mobility are Marbella (Malaga), Estepona (Malaga) and Montoro (Cordoba). However, all three have dropped below the threshold that marks these restrictions. Marbella stands at 934.8 this Tuesday, Estepona is at 982.5, and Montoro has an incidence rate of 828.6.

47 small municipalities with Covid rates higher than 1,000

Of the 47 municipalities with a Covid rate higher than 1,000 but less than 5,000 inhabitants in which the Territorial Committees of High Impact on Public Health will have to decide whether or not to apply perimeter lockdown, ten are in Malaga province, eight in Jaén, seven in Granada, another seven are in Huelva, six in Almeria, six in Cordoba, two in Cadiz and one in Seville.

The municipalities are Abla (1,041.7), Alhabia (2,954.2), Nacimiento (1,612.9), Rioja (1,170), Códbar (1,685.4) and Suflí (1,020.41) in Almería; Grazalema (1,142.6) and Torre Alháquime (1,005) in Cadiz, and Doña Mencía (1,278.4), Montemayor (1,037.3), Santaella (1,408.8), Pedro Abad (1,918.3), La Granjuela (1,366.7) and Pedroche (7,017.5) in the province of Cordoba.

In Granada province, they are Almegíjar (1,187), Bérchules (1,545), Bubión (1,342.3), Dólar (1,910.8), Beas de Granada (1,224.5), Agrón (1,153.9) and Píñar (1,994.6 ); in the province of Huelva are Cañaveral de León (1,515.2), Corteconcepción (1,865.7), Cumbres de Enmedio (1,960.9), Cumbres Mayores (2,858.8), Encinasola (3,129.8), Santa Ana la Real (1,473.7) and Beas (1,244), while in Jaén are the municipalities of Cambil (1,528.1), Cárcheles (1,051.1), Baños de la Encina (1,164.6), Carboneros (1,015.2), Guarromán (1,095.3), Montizón (1,480.2), Santa Elena (1,910.11) and Ibros (1,662.5).

Finally, in Malaga province they are Alcaucín (1,755.2), Colmenar (1,085.4), Sayalonga (1,148), Fuente de Piedra (1,164.5), Sierra de Yeguas (1,145.3), Villanueva de la Concepción (1,247 ), Benaoján (1,032.4), El Burgo (1,171.9), Faraján (10,728) and Jubrique (1,529.6), and in the province of Seville is the municipality of Villanueva del Río y Minas (1,980.6).
