Summer temperatures return this week with highs above 30 degrees

The probability of rain is very low although there could be strong gusts of wind at times

The autumn wardrobe change will have to wait for a little bit longer. The first week of October will be marked by good weather and a rise in temperatures that will see some areas of Malaga province reach 31 or 32 degrees this Wednesday, 5 October.

That is according to the forecast from Spain’s State Meteorological Agency Aemet, that predicts Pizarra and Coín could enjoy summer-like temperatures. Across Andalucía the mercury could reach 32 degrees in Huelva, Seville and Cordoba.

According to Aemet’s spokesperson in Andalucía, Ceuta and Melilla, Luis Fernando López Cotín, the weather in the region this week will be marked by "the strengthening of an anticyclone", which is expected to bring "atmospheric stability."

In the middle of the week a so-called ‘veroño’ a meteorological mix of summer and autumn will take centre stage calendar – which will see both the minimum and the maximum temperatures rise. In Malaga city the minimum temperature will jump no less than 6 degrees, going from the 15 on Tuesday to the 21 expected on Thursday.

As of Wednesday the strong gusts in the Strait of Gibraltar will affect coastal areas of Cadiz province, while the probability of rainfall is very low throughout the week and only rises to 35 per cent in Malaga city on Saturday.
