The Andalusian region has registered a total of 680 new coronavirus infections this Wednesday, 8 September, up from the 307 reported on Tuesday. But it is 300 fewer than the number reported seven days ago, according to data from the Institute of Cartography and Statistics of Andalucía.
The IECA has also reported 27 Covid-19 deaths, five more than the day before and eight more than a week ago.
The region’s cumulative incidence rate stands at 139.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, so it is back at March levels, being some 14.5 fewer than Tuesday and 100.2 down on the rate seven days ago.
The 680 positives are registered after the 307 on Tuesday, 1,298 on Monday and Sunday (48 hours), the 895 infections on Saturday, the 1,095 of Friday, 1,229 on Thursday, 949 on Wednesday of last week.
By provinces, Seville continues as the one with the most cases with 199, followed by Malaga with 126, Cadiz with 87, Almeria with 71, Granada with 58, Huelva with 54, Jaén with 45 and Cordoba with 40.
Regarding the 27 deaths registered in the last 24 hours, 18 were recorded in Seville, two in Malaga, Granada and Huelva and one each in Cadiz, Almeria and Cordoba. Jaén is the only province that did not record any deaths in the daily update.
