Benalmádena is preparing for the 14th edition of the Feria de Plantas de Coleccíon (rare plant fair) which will be held in La Paloma Park between 25 and 27 June. The show, which focuses on the promotion of little-known plants, attracts serious collectors and also keen amateur horticulturalists looking for ways of making their gardens more attractive.

More than 40 local and national horticultural specialists will participate in the fair, which will include tropical and subtropical plants, cacti and succulents of varying shapes and sizes, striking orchid displays and bonsai trees. In addition, there will be stands offering aromatic medicinal herbs, bulbs, seeds and fertilisers, as well as information, advice and tips concerning the cultivation and care of exotic plants.

The event is organised by the Parks and Gardens department of Benalmádena town hall. La Paloma Park houses a permanent collection of over 90 species of palm trees and one of the best collections of bamboo and succulents in Europe.

The show can be visited between 5pm and 9pm on Friday 25 June; 10am until 2pm, and 4pm to 9pm, on the Saturday; and from 10am until 2pm on the Sunday.
