4 June, 7pm The orchestra will play The Happy Slaves by Juan Crisóstomo de Arraiga and Joaquín Rodrigo, Fantasia for a Gentleman with special guest guitarrist, Javier García Moreno in the first half and Gustav Holst’s St Paul’s Suite and Edward Grieg’s Holberg’s Suite in the second half.

To support local musicians who have been unable to work during the pandemic, will be allowed to perform in the sreets of Torremolinos (under licence from the town hall). They will be in the town centre, Parque de Bomberos, Av. Palma de Mallorca, Plaza Costa del Sol, Plaza de la Unión Europea, C/ San Miguel, Plaza San Miguel, Plaza de La Nogalera, Plaza Andalucía, Plaza del Remoand from the Paseo de La Carihuela to Plaza Chiriva, El Bajondillo and Playamar.

Relax and Piano Music

The concert will be held outside on the grass and attendees are encouraged to bring a yoga mat or blanket and a pillow so that they can lie back and relax to pianist Herman Rijks playing a selection of soothing music from Sting, Pink Floyd and Adele mixed with some Beethoven, Chopin and various own compositions.

Alhaurín de la Torre Open every Sunday 9am - 2pm.

The ARCH team at the Rescue Centre for Horses and Donkeys has resumed its popular Sunday open mornings. Children can groom the donkeys and ponies, and volunteers are on hand to explain the charity’s work. No more than six in a group can be admitted and masks must be worn. Cudeca Golf Tournament

Mijas. 6 June, from 9am.La Cala Resort, Campo América.

The competition is limited to players of any age with Spanish or other International handicap. No limit of handicap BUT to qualify for a prize the maximum handicap for men is 26.4 and ladies is 36.4. Registration is 62€ and includes green fee, shared buggy, prize giving, raffle and auction to raise funds. Participants will also be given lunch. Non-golfers can accompany players at lunch for 25€. The format will be Individual Stableford, 18 holes.

Siân is a highly qualified and experienced tutor and events organiser, and lectures regularly for the National Gallery and NADFAS (The Arts Society).

Botanical garden El Molino de Inca

Torremolinos. Jardín Botánico El Molino de Inca.

The site, which has been remodelled to make the gardens and facilities accessible to everyone, has now re-opened. The gardens cover 40,000 square metres of land and contain nearly a thousand plant species of which there are 150 varieties of palm. There are also several different species of birds, including some unique in Spain.
