More than 30 of the Costa del Sol's top musicians and singers will participate in the Salón Benefit Festival, which will be held at the Salón Varietés Theatre between Wednesday 11 and Sunday 15 November. The five-night musical extravaganza has been organised to help the theatre recover from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, which has created severe financial problems.
Many of the coast's most celebrated performers have come together to offer their support and time free of charge. The festival will present six acts each night with a mixture of music that incorporates everything from rock and roll, pop and jazz, to disco, soul and country and western.
The opening night will present Charlton Greene, Ruth and Craig Norris and the popular Echoes of the 60s; while Thursday's line-up includes Laura Elen, Johnny Westwood and Rock of the Ages. The music will continue on Friday with Mark T Connor, Deborah Dee and Mario Ross; while Saturday will offer Ricky Lavazza, Izzy Brown and Cath Johns.
The festival will close on Sunday with the music of Catrina Helsby, David Vincent, Laura Carter and Dunc Neil.
Tickets for the festival cost 15 euros per night and are available by calling 952474542 or from the theatre box office Monday to Friday from 11am to 2.30pm.
Shows begin at 7pm. Capacity restrictions will be in force and masks must be worn in the theatre.
