The twenty-second Almuñécar gastronomy fair (Feria Gastronómica) will be taking place in a number of restaurants in the town from 9 to 25 October.
Unlike in previous years,, the event won't be taking place in the Majuelo park due to the coronavirus restrictions.
Instead restaurants in the town had until 30 September to register their intention to take part. Once the final list has been drawn up, details of the participating establishments will be available on Almuñécar town hall's website and social media pages.
Locally grown subtropical fruit will be the star of this year's fair and each dish must include either custard apples (chirimoya), mango or avocado - or indeed all three.
Each dish will cost between six and 10 euros and prices will be set by the individual restaurants.
Revealing plans for the event in September, Almuñécar's councillor for Business, Francisco Robles Rivas, said, "We still want to go ahead with the event, which is always popular with the general public, although due to the pandemic, we have decided to hold it in the participating restaurants.
"We also want to help promote the subtropical fruit sector."
