The Malaga Film Festival returns to the city this weekend, accompanied by some unmissable local gastronomy. Through the Cómete el Festival (Eat the Festival) initiative, the promotional brand Sabor a Málaga will offer visitors and film enthusiasts the chance to sample the best products and wines from across the province from today, Friday, until Sunday 30 August.

This gastronomy route was launched on Tuesday morning at the Diputación provincial government headquarters by its vice president and head of Sabor a Málaga, Juan Carlos Maldonado; the president of the Hospitality Association of Malaga, Javier Frutos; and three chefs representing participating restaurants: Irene Garrido from KGB, Elías Tang from Mercado de San Martín and Nuria Carmona from Araboka.

With the enforced change of date because of the lockdown, fewer restaurants will be participating this time round but meals and flavours inspired by iconic films will be served up at 28 restaurants across the city which form part of the route.

The main focus, however, especially given how the sector has been hit by the pandemic, will of course be on local products.
