Live music is set to return to the Cortijo de Torres municipal auditorium in Malaga next month. A series of rock, pop and flamenco concerts have been organised to take place from July to September. With a limited capacity of 800 people, Málaga Gira was born with the aim of reactivating the city's live music scene and organisers guarantee that all the necessary requirements will be met in order to ensure the safety of the audience, performers and staff.
The series will start on Saturday 25 July with a concert by Lebanese violinist Ara Malikian, who will perform songs from his latest recording Royal Garage. Indie singer Carolina Durante will take to the stage on 31 July, while flamenco singer Miguel Poveda will perform on 1 August.
Among other concerts lined up are Granada-based rock band 091, famed for working with Joe Strummer of the Clash during the early 80s; and Latin Grammy Award-winning rapper Mala Rodriguez.
