  • Torremolinos town hall has launched several new initiatives for both Spanish and English-speaking residents to participate in to help relieve the boredom of the lockdown

The Culture and Foreign Residents departments of Torremolinos town hall have launched several new initiatives for both Spanish and English-speaking residents to participate in to help relieve the boredom of the lockdown. The council's cultural programme can be accessed online (www.culturatorremolinos.es) and includes poetry, photograph and drawing competitions.

Selected poems will be published on the website and some will be selected to be read by local actors and artists, whose interpretations will also be available online.

The drawing competition invites artists to reinvent the book cover of Cervantes' Don Quijote, and all contestants will receive a gift of a book donated by the municipal library. Entries for the competition must be submitted by Friday 8 May.

Residents are also invited to post a photograph of the first place in the town they will visit once the lockdown has been lifted.

The Foreign Residents Department has reminded residents that the office, although closed at present, remains available throughout the lockdown at the usual e-mail address (residente.extranjero@torremolinos.es) or over the phone (951 954 395).
