Some of Malaga's top flamenco performers will come together in Torremolinos on Friday for a traditional Andalucía Day fiesta.

Held in the Peña Amigos del Arte Flamenco (situated on the fairground), the proceedings will begin at 2pm, when a typical Andalusian lunch will be served.

The event will present several renowned flamenco artists, including Malaga singer Delia Membrive, who began singing as a child and went on to perform with some of Andalucía's top flamenco companies.

In 2010, she was awarded first prize for her distinctive, duende-fuelled voice in the Benalmádena Concurso de Cante Flamenco (flamenco singing competition).

Delia will be accompanied by Antonio Soto Arjona, a leading figure in the world of flamenco guitar. This celebrated musician has spent the past few decades accompanying some of flamenco's most revered singers and dancers.

The dance will be supplied by local girl Marta Ripoll and Miguel Infante, principal dancer of legendary Spanish guitarist Juan Martín's Flamenco Dance Ensemble, with which he toured all over Europe and North America.

The special guest artist is Vanessa Domínguez, a dancer of great merit who has studied with Farruquito, Belén Maya and Yolanda Heredia.

The afternoon promises to be a truly unforgettable experience for lovers of authentic flamenco.

Tickets cost ten euros and include a three-course set menu.
