Sopa de los Siete Ramales

Every Andalucía Day, El Burgo in the Sierra de las Nieves, celebrates the traditional Sopa de los Siete Ramales with a festival of the same name. The soup is based on garden vegetables, wild asparagus, bread and olive oil. There is also a craft market, live music and guided visits of the most interesting sites in the town.

The festival will feature several dishes of the Serranía de Ronda area with tastings etc. There will also be live music, a chorizo-making workshop, live cooking demonstrations and a jamón slicing competition.
The Climb to El Santo

The festival commemorates the installation of the image of El Santo (the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús) in the Sierra de Gibralmora on 28 February 1995. The trip to the site of the image is an ideal opportunity for walkers to see the Cueva Oscura and climb to the peak of the mountain. Dancing and flamenco takes place from 1pm in the town.

The re-enactment of the death of Salvador Manzanares and Pedro Manique both Estepona men. Manzanares was a liberal military man who was shot during a failed attempt against the La Linea de la Concepción and Algeciras. Pedro Manique was with General Torrijos and was killed with him on the beach in Malaga.
