The Jardín Botánico de la Concepción in Malaga travels from the jungle to the savannah as the setting for two musicals on summer nights.

De Simba a Kiara (from Simba to Kiara), a tribute to the Lion King by the local company Onbeat, premieres in Malaga's botanical garden on 27 and 28 August.

Before that, on 24 and 25 August, the production of Hara, El Espíritu de la Selva, based on The Jungle Book, returns for the third year.

The two family shows, with sessions at 8pm and 10pm, are expected to draw more than 4,000 spectators.

Both shows will also be working to support charities. In agreement with the Cudeca Foundation, bars will be installed with profits from the sale of drinks and food donated to the organisation.

De Simba a Kiara is considered the best tribute to the Lion King in Spain and has spent over two years touring, with almost 300 performances throughout the country and more than 200,000 spectators.

The show is based on the films Lion King 1 and 2, from Simba's birth to his reign, incorporating official songs that had never been performed live in the country before.

Reservations for De Simba a Kiara can be made at www.entradasonbeat.com.

Tickets for El Espíritu de la Selva can be bought from El Corte Inglés.
