The Casa de las Navajas will present a night of classical and Spanish guitar music today, Friday 26 July. The concert will be performed by guitarist and composer Pablo Alcázar, a young musician from Nerja who has received much acclaim both in Spain and in the UK.
The concert will promote the award-winning musician's latest release, Mediterraneo, a work that the composer claims focuses on "the things that leave a mark on one's life".
Born into a family with a long musical tradition, Alcázar began his musical studies at the age of eight when he enrolled in the Escuela Municipal de Nerja, continuing his musical education at conservatories in Torre del Mar and Granada. He now composes modern music for the classical guitar and his repertoire ranges from classical and romantic to flamenco.
Organised by Torremolinos town hall, the show will start at 9.30pm and will include classics of the Spanish guitar, as well as a series of six themed pieces from his new album.
Entrance is free, although early arrival is advised as the venue has limited seating.
