A chance to listen to jazz under the stars in Nerja

  • The festival is a good opportunity to discover one of the town's hidden spaces

The fifth year of the music festival Nerja Ciudad Abierta, Music In Other Spaces, which is now known as '3 En El Paraíso,' will be taking place on 2 and 14 August and 4 September at the Hotel Paraíso del Mar on Calle Prolongación Hernando de Carabeo 22.

The festival, which is being organised by Ventana Abierta, is a good opportunity to discover one of Nerja's hidden spaces while listening to music outdoors.

On 2 August the Miguel Rodríguez Trio and Enrique Oliver will be performing, followed by The Félix Rossy Quintet on 14 August and the Eva Jiménez Quartet on 4 September.

Singer and pianist Eva Jiménez completed her musical training at the University of Arts in Philadelphia before performing across Europe. She will be joined by Louis Rene Portellano on the piano, Adrián Jiménez on the drums and Markus Schneider, who has lived in Malaga since 2004, on the double bass. The Félix Rossy Quintet is headed by Barcelona-born Rossy on the trumpet.

Miguel Rodríguez was born in Madrid but went to the Netherlands to complete his studies. He has been described as "an extraordinary pianist," and is joined by Javier Calle on the double bass and Miguel Benito on drums.

Each concert will start at 10pm at the Hotel Paraíso del Mar.

Tickets cost 15 euros and can be purchased in advance from Calle Dr Ferrán 1 (Edificio Vélez-Málaga, Nerja), by phone (690 073 871), by email (ventana.abierta.acp @gmail.com) or online (www.ventana-abierta.es).
