The singer announced last week that the Costa del Sol would be the destination for one of the European stops, and the only one in Spain, on her 'It's my party. The live celebration' world tour.

The hype surrounding this concert is not surprising to anyone. Seven years have now passed since Lopez's last show in Spain and this is expected to be an extra special occasion as the singer-cum-actress celebrates her 50th birthday. She reaches this milestone on 24 July but will put on a special show for the occasion, accompanied by her family and "surprises".

Despite tickets costing between 65 and 165 euros, the star sold 10,000 tickets in only four hours on Monday. With the concert almost selling out, the ticket reselling soon began. The difficuties entering the website led people to resale sites to get their chance to see the Latina pop star perform. The site stubhub.com was selling tickets for between 200 and 400 euros, when the original first-phase tickets were 65 euros. A limited amount of tickets were still available on the venue's website on Thursday starting at 100 euros.

Marenostrum Fuengirola will host the spectacle, adding to its growing national reputation as a stage for some of the world's biggest acts after visits from the likes of Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart so far this year.

According to organisers, the show will see "unprecedented set design, costumes and choreography which will give new life to her classics and more recent songs".

This show follows last week's performance in Manhattan, New York, which had to be suspended due to the city's huge blackout.
