Several thousand revellers are expected to descend on Manilva for the town's third annual Pride event this weekend. Some 31 acts will take to the stage during the three days of celebrations that features a parade through the streets of Sabinillas and Duquesa.

This year's event also has a talent show with organisers after musicians, singers, dancers, magicians or group acts to perform at the festival.

Now in its third year, the event is the idea of Manilva expat and bar owner Christian Lee Dunn who said: "This year we expect to see record numbers at Manilva Pride, with tourists visiting us from Spain, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden, Holland, Norway, France and many more and a new coach service will be provided from Malaga and Torremolinos direct to the event."

The event starts today, 14 June from 10pm at the Main Stage in Duquesa Port.

The festivities continue on Saturday, 15 June at 5pm in Orange Square, Sabinillas, with a performance from the local expat choir, local dance school and a group of Scottish ladies who are flying over to provide Brazilian drumming.

The Pride Parade commences at 8pm on Saturday and will see thousands of people and a variety of floats and flags take to the streets, looping Sabinillas and making their way to Duquesa Port. On Sunday, 16 June an afternoon street party will take place in Duquesa Port from 3pm to 9pm. You can find the event on Facebook (@ManilvaPride).
