The Día de la Bici (Bicycle Day), organised by Malaga city hall, gives an opportunity for those of all ages to get out into the fresh air and cycle around the city in complete safety. It is an activity that forms part of the European Mobility Week.

The route is 12 kilometres long and there is a shorter route of 5.5 kilometres for family groups.

On Sunday, 23 September all cyclists for the longer route will meet in the Paseo del Parque, leaving at 10am. The families and cyclists for the shorter route will congregate from 10.15am for a 10.45am start.

There will be prizes for the most original fancy dress and also for the best-decorated bicycle, and people entering need to present themselves to the judges at the starting point at 9.30am. There will also be a raffle for various bike-related merchandise after the race for those registered.

To register, cyclists need to go to the Sports department in El Corte Inglés on Avenida Andalucía or the Bahía Málaga shopping centre before Saturday, 22 September.
