The Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra starts new season

Next week, on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 September, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga will start its 29th season at the Cervantes Theatre in Malaga. The series of concerts consists of fifteen programmes of which eight will be conducted by Manuel Hernández-Silva, manager and artistic director of the OFM, and the other seven will be conducted by guests Pedro Halffter, Antoni Wit, Aldo Ceccato, Guillermo García Calvo, José María Moreno, Leo¨ Svárovský and Yoav Talmi.

Solo performers this season include pianists Vadym Kholodenko, Kun-Woo Paik and Martina Filjak; violinists Robert Lakatos, Miguel Borrego, Yana Deshkova and Ana María Valderrama; viola players Evdokia Ershova; cellists Fedor Amosov and flautists Jorge Francés, among others, as well as the Coral Cármina Nova and the Coro de Ópera de Málaga choirs.

The concerts on 13 and 14 September will be conducted by Manuel Hernández-Silva and features pianist Vadym Kholodenko. The orchestra will be playing works by Prokofiev and Janáek.
