The Royal Air Forces Association of the Costa del Sol (RAFA) is to host a special dinner-dance to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the RAF, with a Battle of Britain-themed event held in the Tamisa Golf Hotel in Mijas on Thursday 6 September at 7.30pm.

The celebrations will include a performance of one of the coast's favourite amateur theatrical groups, A Touch of Class, who will entertain guests with their frightfully British production, 'Remember the Days'.

The cast will perform songs from the 1940s, while recreating the dance hall atmosphere of the war years with costumes and uniforms typical of the period. Guests will be invited to join in with the singing of songs like The White Cliffs of Dover, Wish me Luck (As You Wave Me Goodbye) and Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree. They will also perform several amusing sketches with wartime themes. This promises to be a night of nostalgia for anyone who remembers the years of the 'People's War'.

Tickets for the event, which includes arrival drinks and a three-course dinner, cost 35 euros and can be purchased on 952567412. Dress code is smart, although dinner jackets are optional.

All funds raised at the event will be donated to the RAFA welfare group, a service that supports all serving and ex-serving personnel and their dependants.
