The 44-year-old pianist, David Gómez, who is currently touring Spain with his '1 Piano and 200 Candles' show, will offer a recital of the music of Chopin, Lecuona and Piazzolla, as well as some his own compositions. The concert will be performed on the steps of the San Isidro Labrador y Santa María church, which will be illuminated with the glow of 200 candles.

The show, which is organised by the cultural department of Cártama town hall, has already been performed in Mallorca, Madrid, Navarra, Cadiz and Granada. Each performance has been presented in a unique location: these have included a lighthouse, train station, churches, abandoned buildings and historic ruins.

Gómez began to play the piano at an early age and after studying with several renowned maestros, he began to make his mark in the world of classical music. He gave his first recital at the age of 14, and has since performed as a soloist throughout the five continents. He recently made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, and has also appeared on the stages of the Opera House in Cairo and the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

The show in Cártama will begin at 10.30pm on Sunday 29 July.

Tickets cost 20 euros, or 30 euros for a VIP pass, and are available online from www.ticketea.com or www.1y200.com

The show will also be performed in the bullring in Torremolinos on Thusday 9 August.
