The third edition of the popular Festival Terral, an event that promotes the fashions of some of the most avant-garde designers in Spain, will take place in Torremolinos this weekend.
The Terral Market is a unique event in Andalucía that brings together diverse trends in different professional design and artistic genres. With areas such as, handicrafts, home decoration, graphic art, textiles, fashion and new technologies, the event offers exhibitors the chance to promote their latest designs.
Organised by Torremolinos town hall and numerous local and national businesses, the festival also aims to promote the talents of young up-and-coming artists and designers. Among the new entrepreneurs selected for this year's festival are specialised furniture designers, artisan jewellers, sculptors and ceramicists.
There will also be special training workshops, where demonstrations of manufacturing handmade paper, printing on fabric and origami will be offered.
Food trucks will offer traditional Cuban, Mexican, Japanese and American style fast-food, while the main stage will host some of the coast's top musicians. Friday's concerts include legendary bluesman, Richard Ray Farrell, followed by a performance of the coast's top ska band, Mentally Ska'd. On Saturday, the music will continue with rumba-funk group, Mitad Doble; and the reggae-rock band, Clusterfucks.
The event, held in the gardens of the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre, begins at 5pm and ends at midnight on Friday 25 (today). On Saturday, the festival will start at midday and finish at midnight. www.torremolinos.es
