How dance is covered by the media; what place does it hold in cinema; what is its relationship with music, and with audio-visual support; what role do critics play... these and other subjects will be discussed at the VI International Conference on Dance, Research and Education, which is being organised by Malaga university, from 17 to 19 May.
The main theme is 'Dance and Communication'. Choreographer Cristina Ruiz Yuste will be the first to speak, with a conference called 'Let the show begin', followed by a round-table discussion on 'Dance, cinema and communication', led by Cecilia Nocilli (Hanna Kiel Fellow. Harvard University, Italia).
Also taking part will be dancer Cristina Hoyos and her husband Juan Antonio Jiménez, with a talk on 'Memories of life and dance. When the stage is celluloid'.
