The Spiders from Marbs, a popular David Bowie tribute band, are to bring their exciting show to Benalmádena Costa next week.
The Marbella-based group, which is made up of several members of popular Costa punk band, The Reinfected, will perform some of David Bowie's most celebrated hits.
The 90 minute show will include songs from all of the different stages of Bowie's career, from the androgynous alien, Ziggy Stardust, to Aladdin Sane, The Thin White Duke and the New Romantic and pop era.
Fans will enjoy classic hits like The Jean Genie, Rebel Rebel, China Girl and Heroes. The professionalism of the musicians creates the ambiance of an early David Bowie gig, complete with face-makeup and the classic glam-rock sound of the 70s.
The Spiders from Marbs is the only David Bowie tribute act on the coast and their act bears witness to the huge influence Bowie had on world music. The band consists of musicians who are lifelong Bowie devotees, including guitarist, Martin Hope, founding member of iconic UK punk band, The Accused.
Martin achieved relative success on the British punk scene and his band was featured in a 2010 documentary about the Birmingham music scene of the 70s.
Bowie, who died in January 2016, was a leading figure in popular music for over five decades and he was acclaimed by fellow musicians and critics for a career that was marked by reinvention and visual presentation. His worldwide record sales are estimated to be 140 million, which made him one of the world's best-selling musical artists.
