The International Theatre Studio Marbella is preparing for its annual Spring production later this month at El Paraiso Golf Club, Estepona.

It will be a new setting for the local amateur dramatics group as its usual venue, Atalaya Hotel, is currently undergoing refurbishment. Their interpretation of Habeas Corpus, a farcical comedy by Alan Bennett, will take place across three nights from 23rd to 25th March with an 8pm start Friday and Saturday and 7pm on the Sunday.

The play revolves around The Wicksteeds, a family which rates sex and the satisfaction of the body as primary importance in day-to-day life. It takes the audience on a journey through a maze of mistaken identities and sexual encounters; as Wicksteed says, “He whose lust lasts lasts longest”.

Directed by Peter Brooks, a long-standing member of ITS, the production includes one of the largest casts the group have performed with to date.

ITS performs three productions each year and hosts some sort of play reading every month, with all ages and abilities welcome. Anyone interested in getting involved is invited to get in touch @internationaltheatrestudio.org.

Tickets for Habeas Corpus are available online at www.internationaltheatrestudio.org. 13€ (or 10€ for ITS members).
