The recently-formed Living Waters Christian Foundation is holding a Christmas fair with a difference on Saturday 9 December.
Unlike the usual festive markets that take place at this time of year, Living Waters will host a social gathering that will present an afternoon of live entertainment. Several local bands and musicians are donating their time and talent to raise money for, and awareness to, this local charity organisation.
Monkey Tennis, Dex Rock Blues and Friends, and Alice Reay are set to perform at the event.
Living Waters is more of a social club than a church. There are no crosses or ecclesiastical paraphernalia; instead, just a welcoming ambience for whoever wants to visit.
“Our aim is to get people to come and visit, take a look and decide whether it's fun or not, so we are putting together an afternoon of rock, Motown and country, with possibly even some flamenco. We want a fun afternoon where people see who we are and what we are doing,” John Harper, founder of Living Waters, told SUR in English.
The party will be held between 10am- 6pm, and everyone is welcome, especially those who can help out on the day. Food and drinks will be available and the centre's book and charity shop will be open. There will also be a tombola and prize raffle, as well as numerous other festive activities.
