The Scandinavian Cello School (SCS), led by award winning British cellist, Jacob Shaw, has arrived back on the Costa del Sol to perform a series of Christmas concerts. A group of six renowned cellists from Ireland, UK, Denmark, Poland and China, will present a repertoire that includes classical and popular music, along with traditional festive carols.

The concerts will be held at various locations along the coast from Friday 10 (today) until Sunday 12 November.

The first installment will take place tonight at the Royal Tennis Club in Marbella at 10pm. On Saturday, the group will appear at the CAC art gallery in Mijas Pueblo: this show begins at 8.30pm.

Sunday's soirée, organised with the collaboration of Costa Women, will be held in the Avanto Beach Restaurant in La Cala de Mijas. This event, which begins at 8.30pm, will include a special Christmas market and an art exhibition organised by Centro de Arte Mijas.

The festival has been organised by Project Music Management, an institution seeking to break down the borders between different artistic traditions.

The Scandinavian Cello School was founded by Jacob Shaw to support, educate and promote young cellists around Europe: this will be their fourth visit to the coast.

Ticket prices, which will include welcome drinks, range from 25 to 40 euros, and three euros from each ticket will be donated to Ángeles Malagueños de la Noche, a charity that provides for local underprivileged families.
