The tenth edition of the popular Blues at Moonlight Festival will be held from Thursday 16 until Sunday 19 November.
This international rockabilly and American roots music gathering is organised by Active Sound Productions and will be held at the Moonlight Lounge Bar at Sunset Beach Club, with special afternoon concerts being held on the Oasis Terrace.
The festival has become one of the most prestigious events of its kind in Spain and this year more than 20 national and international groups and artists will participate.
These will include German rockers, Ray Collins Hot Club, who, with 11 albums under their belt, have performed all over the world, and Viktor Huganet, an Italian singer and guitarist whose influences lie with Eddie Cochran and Buddy Holly.
Several Portuguese bands will also take part, including Roy Dee and the Spitfires, a 1950s-style rockabilly outfit, and AJ and the Rockin Trio, a four-piece combo that perform a mixture of swing, country, blues and jazz. There will also be an Elvis tribute concert on Saturday night, performed by Patrick Ouchene, also from Portugal.
Spanish bands, Hot Nasho, Lucky Dados and The Sun Rockers will deliver a mixture of roots music from the 1940s and '50s. Unfortunately, the main British act scheduled to appear, Jack Rabbit Smith, has been cancelled.
The afternoon concerts, which are free, will take place on the terrace of the Oasis Bar between midday and 6.30pm, while the night time concerts in the Moonlight Lounge will begin at 8pm and continue until the early hours.
Several disc-jockeys will keep the music flowing between the acts, including British spinners, Trevor Collins and Little Carl, along with resident DJ, Tall Mike.
Tickets for the Thursday and Sunday night sessions cost eight euros. Tickets for Friday night cost 25, while Saturday, the main event, is 30 euros. Entry for children under twelve - who must be accompanied by an adult - is free, and a weekend pass is available for 60 euros. A special package including accommodation in the Sunset Beach hotel is also available.
The festival will finish on Sunday, with a special concert by Seville-based rockabilly band, Hot Clover Club.
