Mijas A three day photographic festival will be held at the Las Lagunas Theatre in Mijas Costa from Friday 10 until Sunday 12 November.
Photofestival is the largest gathering of shutterbug aficionados in Andalucía and the event will present an extensive programme that will cater for all levels of photography, whether professional or amateur.
Photographers will have the opportunity to learn new techniques and elements to improve their skills during a series of talks and seminars concerning different aspects of the art. These will include, Simbolismo y Procesos Alternativos en la Fotografía (Symbolism and alternative process in photography), and Transformaciones del Género Fotográfico y Sus Nuevos Escenarios (transformations of the photographic genre and its new scenarios). The talks, which will be in Spanish, will be delivered by celebrated professionals from the photographic sector, along with the winners of the World Press Photo competition.
More than a dozen professional photographers will present workshops covering a range of topics, from cameras and equipment, to the art of taking the perfect picture.
Some of the top camera and photographic companies will be on hand to offer advice and there will be a commercial area selling the latest equipment and accessories.
The event, which is organised by Backstage Productions and sponsored by Fuji Film, Cannon and Jinbei, will be inaugurated at 8.30pm on Friday 10 November.
Entrance to the festival costs 60 euros and there is a 50 per cent discount for students that present their student ID cards at the ticket office. More information: www.photofestival.es
