The post office in Avdenida Palma de Mallorca in Torremolinos is currently hosting a new exhibition of photographs based on the Camino de Santiago.
Known in English as The Way of Saint James, the camino is a network of routes to the shrine of the apostle, Saint James the Great, in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. The route is a form of spiritual path that finishes in the cathedral in Santiago, where tradition claims that the remains of the saint are buried.
The exhibition consists of 57 photographs, all of which are part of a recent photographic competition that focused on the popular Christian pilgrimage that began in the Middle Ages.
This exhibition, which is free, has been visiting different Spanish cities throughout 2017 with the aim of promoting the Camino de Santiago, and Torremolinos is its first stop in Andalusia.
Organised by the Spanish post office and La Comunidad de Peregrinos (association of pilgrims), the exhibition will continue until Thursday 2 November.
