Almuñécar on the Costa Tropical is hosting its first flamenco guitar festival this weekend, with three concerts at the town's Casa de la Cultura.
The event started on Thursday with a performance by Almeria guitarist, David Caro and continues this evening, Friday with a concert from Granada musician, Miguel Ochando, who will be accompanied by another guitarist and percussionist. Miguel is a well-known and respected figure in the world of flamenco, having accompanied some of the Spain's biggest names, such as Carmen Linares and Enrique Morente.
Closing the town's first flamenco guitar festival, on Saturday evening, is Niño Josele and his group.
Niño Josele is another famous and respected name and like Miguel Ochando, his career has seen him play with some of the country's leading stars, including Estrella Morente and Chano Dominguez.
This final concert is free for anyone who purchases tickets for the previous two concerts.
Tickets can be bought at the box office at the Casa de la Cultura in Almuñécar, online at www.festivaldeguitarra.com or in Viajes Ecuador travel agency in the town and cost 10 euros for the Miguel Ochando concert.
Only those with tickets for the previous two concerts may attend the Niño Josele performance.
All concerts start at 9pm.
