The Frame Gallery Bar in Fuengirola is to present a 'swing jazz' evening on Friday (today) 13 October.
The show will feature Kukka Rajalin, a well-known professional singer from Finland who specialises in South American music. She has toured extensively as a soloist - appearing in Sweden, Norway, Belgium, France, America, Chile and Argentina - and also worked as a vocal lecturer in the University of Helsinki before moving to Costa del Sol in 2015.
Kukka is a master of the Argentinean-Finnish tango, an established variation of the Argentinian tango, but with rhythms that follow the ballroom tango.
The Finnish vocalist, who holds a Bachelor's degree in music pedagogy, has teamed up with renowned Spanish guitarist, Ricky Vivar, to present a show that will fuse Brazilian jazz - another of Kukka's specialities - with swing jazz.
Ricky Vivar is one of the most respected jazz guitarists on Costa del Sol and he has performed on stages all over the world with celebrated musicians such as clarinetist, Antti Sarpila, and pianist, Diego Suarez.
Kukka's voice is well suited to jazz and the impressive guitar work of Malaga-born guitarist, Ricky Vivar, has airs of the great Django Reinhardt, so this promises to be a spectacular night for the lovers of jazz.
Tickets for the show, which starts at 8pm, cost 10 euros and are available on the door.
