  • The Salida de Sol II festival runs from Monday 2 to Sunday 8 October

A music, art and gastronomy festival is to be held at the Avanto Beach restaurant in La Cala de Mijas next week.

The Salida de Sol II festival will consist of seven concerts over seven nights, presenting world renowned classical musicians. There will also be visual art displayed by artists from around the world. These will include painting, sculpture, photography and lithographs.

The gallery can be viewed free of charge between 10am and 6pm. The artists will be present to explain about their passion and techniques. Each night will herald a different concept, exploring both the traditional and contemporary through audible and visual artistry: included will be a unique tapas menu to complement the evening.

The festival includes international cellist, Jacob Shaw; pianist David Lau Magnussen and violinist, Marisol Lee.

The evening events begin at 8pm, when visitors can enjoy cocktails while admiring the art exhibition, followed by the first of two classical music recitals.

The final night will include a special concert by TIMS, the popular harmony choir that has been entertaining audiences on the Costa del Sol for more than twenty-five years.

The festival, which will run from Monday 2 until Sunday 8 October, is organised by Project Music Management.

Tickets cost 25 euros for one night and there are discounts for groups of over six people with a special discount for those wish to attend the entire seven days.

A percentage of the ticket sales will be donated to the Cudeca cancer hospice in Benalmádena.
