More than one hundred vintage cars will participate in the twenty-second edition of the Amigos de los Clásicos (friends of classic cars) event in Torremolinos this weekend.
Dedicated to the restoration, preservation and enjoyment of classic motorcars, the Classic Automobile Club of Torremolinos and the Classic Sports Car Club of Southern Europe, with the support of Torremolinos town hall, have organised the event, which will take place on Saturday (tomorrow).
As in previous years, the classic vintage cars will be brought to in front of the town hall in Torremolinos at 9.30am. Spectators will have a few hours to admire the cars before they embark on their journey through the streets of the town at 11am.
The procession will pass through El Calvario, Plaza Costa del Sol and Calle San Miguel, arriving in La Carihuela at around 2pm for the judging .
The procession of vehicles will include classic Mercedes, vintage Morgans and MG sports cars, Chevrolets and Lincolns, some of which will be more than one-hundred years old.
These fabulous old cars, which have been lovingly restored by their owners, will be competing for trophies in various categories, including oldest, best restored, best classic sports and the most prestigious car of the event.
The event usually attracts classic car enthusiasts from all over Spain and it is becoming one of the biggest of its kind in Spain.
The Classic Car Rally kicks off the town’s annual feria, which begins on Wednesday 27 September.
