The bullring in Marbella will host performances by the flamenco dancer, Farruquito and his family, and the celebrated Spanish singer, Raphael, on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September.
Farruquito will perform his deep-rooted style of flamenco dance along with various members of his large clan on Saturday night. They will be joined on stage by special guest musician, Melody, a 27-year-old singer from Dos Hermanas in Seville.
Farruquito was born into the heart of a gypsy flamenco family and he was raised and nurtured by his grandfather, El Farruco, one of the greatest dancers in the history of flamenco. His first stage appearance was at the age of five when he performed alongside his grandfather in the show Flamenco Puro, which premiered on Broadway, but it was his role in the Carlos Saura film, Flamenco, that was to be his springboard into the world of flamenco fame.
On Sunday night, Raphael, one of Spain’s most popular singers, returns to the Marbella hoping to repeat the success of his performance on the same stage last year.
Raphael is a worldwide acclaimed singer and actor. A pioneer of modern Spanish music, especially the copla; he is considered a major influence in having opened the door and paving the way to the flood of Spanish singers that followed in the wake of his enormous success. Raphael is a showman to say the least and his emotion-charged lyrics and dramatic stage presence has entertained people worldwide for more than five decades.
He is sure to perform most of his greatest hits, including Mi Gran Noche, Digan lo que Digan and his signature song, Yo Soy Aquél, which he performed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1966.
Both concerts start at 9pm and tickets, which start at 22.50 euros for Farruquito and 38.50 euros for Raphael, are available online or from the ticket office on the night of the show.
