Cártama is preparing to celebrate the fifth edition of the ‘Ruta de la Tapa y el Cóctel’, a gastronomic event that will take place from 8 to 11 June.
The tapa and cocktail route, which is organised by Guadalhorce Turismo and Cártama town hall, is sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, Sabor a Málaga, Renfe, Radio Cártama and several local bodegas.
A total of 45 establishments in Cártama Pueblo, Estación de Cártama and El Sexmo are taking part in the initiative. Participating bars will offer a selection of cocktails to accompany a range of imaginative dishes that have been prepared with locally-produced ingredients.
Customers can register their tapas passports in a grand draw that will include prizes of theatre tickets, hotel accommodation, passes for the Camino del Rey and selections of wine and Iberian pork products.
As is traditional at these gastronomic events, the customers will be able to vote for the best tapa and cocktail, and the winning bars will receive cash prizes of up to 500 euros.
The town hall has arranged a special bus service over the weekend, between 12pm and midnight, to ferry people between Cártama Pueblo, Estación de Cártama and El Sexmo.
