No summer break for U3A

  • The social club, under new vice president Rob Edwards, have planned their first gathering on 7 June

Summer is just around the corner and it’s usually the time when social clubs along the coast sit back and have a rest until the autumn. However some associations are finalising their plans for activities to keep the foreign residents occupied during the summer months.

The U3A has coordinated some activities enabling members to continue meeting, albeit informally. Their first gathering will be on 7 June when they will be strolling around the Parque de la Paloma in Benalmádena. They will meet at 11.30am at Pepe’s restaurant near the roundabout for coffee before setting off.

The new U3A vice president, Rob Edwards, hopes this will be an opportunity to discuss what the group are looking to do over the coming months and how frequently they would like to meet.

Currently there are around 30 people in the group so anyone wishing to join should email Rob on

The U3A Facebook page will also post details of activities.
