Japanese art at the Carmen Thyssen

  • The show, with works from the José Palacio collection, opens on 30 January

The Museo Carmen Thyssen in Malaga is holding an exhibition of Japanese art from 30 January until 23 April. The exhibition consists of paintings and Japanese objets d'art from the collection of José Palacio which is currently held by the Museo de Bellas Artes in Bilbao.

The art works date from between the early XVII century and the middle of the XIX century and includes pieces by Utamaro, Hiroshige and Hokusai. Included in the exhibition are also some delicately-decorated pieces of Urushi lacquerware.
