Alba Cano from Alhaurín has continued her success in the Touring Car Spanish Championship by securing a second place podium in the third race at the Valencian track.

The 28-year-old engineer has been training hard in order to finish the season as highly as possible in the classification.

After becoming the Spanish Endurance Champion in 2019, she opted to sprint in a superior vehicle with the Monlau Repsol team.

Though she is still adjusting to this change, she has proven herself worthy of attaining great results.

After achieving her first victory at Madrid's Jarama circuit and finishing second at Motorland Aragón, Cano returned triumphantly to the podium at the Valencian event.

Fastest in the training rounds, she suffered an unfortunate collision which led to a pitstop. However, she managed to recover sufficiently to finish fifth.

In the second race, Cano finished fourth, with her ultimate comeback in the third and final race placing her at second to 20 year old German Michelle Halder.

Though she proved her skills on the asphalt in front of 4,000 fans in the Valencian stands, she still demands more of herself. She stated "I am happy, but I should have had three podiums and been the leader of the event".

The hotly anticipated final test of the Spanish Championship now awaits at the Catalonian Circuit in November, with Cano leading the female TCR Spain ranking and placing fourth in the general classification.
