  • A goal just before half time condemned Malaga to their second defeat since the season restarted

There was to be no resurrection on Sunday for Malaga's women's team as their usual failings cost them once more, this time against Valencia side Aldaia.

Nati Gutiérrez’s team came up short again in this second phase of the league, in a match with two very contrasting halves. In the first, Malaga failed to register a single shot on target, looking completely uninsipired as the ball approached the final third.

The visitors were able to capitalise on their hosts’ poor showing just before half time. In the 42nd minute Nuria Pomar picked up the ball in the middle of the field and drove at the heart of the Malaga defence before finishing well in the one-on-one with the keeper.

The Blue and Whites showed much more attacking endeavour in the second half but again had no luck in front of goal.

Aldaia, content with their lead, kept several bodies behind the ball and it paid off as Malaga lacked the conviction needed to find a way through.
