Amid all the uncertainty surrounding Malaga CF, the club's administrator José María Muñoz rewarded sporting director Manolo Gaspar with a two-year contract extension until the summer of 2023 this week.

Gaspar, who has reshaped the squad with enormous financial restrictions, has earned all-round praise for the job he has done since coming in a little over a year ago.

Together with coach Sergio Pellicer, stability has returned on the playing side and Pellicer's renewal is also expected to be announced soon with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
