Marbella have got the star player they had been looking for. The club have announced the surprise signing of former Malaga, Villarreal, Albacete and Cordoba midfielder Edu Ramos from Primera side Cadiz .
Edu Ramos, who is from Churriana, turned down multiple offers from sides in higher divisions to come "home" and sign up for the ambitious project under way at Marbella, propelled by the winter signing of former Real Madrid man Esteban Granero, who will be the new man's partner in the centre.
New coach José Manuel Aira is a big fan of the 28-year-old and despite having already strengthened in the middle of the park with the signings of Cissé, Gudiño and Quezada, he didn't want to pass up on the opportunity of signing a player with such experience, even if it came at a cost.
To make space in the squad, Marbella had to release veteran defender and vice-captain Lolo Pavón.
