Marbella youngster Lance Henderson this week participated in the online version of the Chess Olympiad, one of the oldest competitions in the world, dating back to 1927.

Henderson formed part of the six-player Spain team (average 2,416 ELO points) which made it through the qualifying rounds to play in the Top Division (only 40 of the initial 163 nations could progress).

Alongside Paco Vallejo, David Antón, Ana Matnadze, Sabrina Vega and Marta García Martín, Spain ultimately finished fifth in Group B, missing out on a spot in the play-offs.
