The contract of Malaga full-back Ismael Casas has been extended until the end of the 2022-23 season after a clause in his contract was triggered following last Wednesday's match against Deportivo.
Having now played more than 45 minutes in ten league games, the 19-year-old will see his stay extended for three more seasons and will also receive a pay rise.
Despite financial restrictions being imposed by La Liga with regard to the wage cap limit, as an under-23 player on a youth contract, Ismael's situation is exempted from those limitations (as was the case with young Moroccan winger Hicham, extended until 2022).
Ismael, who joined as a 12-year-old, said it was a "dream" to play for Malaga and that he wanted "to stay and play [with them] in Primera".
